Tour SEKY Takes Top Honors For Brochures

Somerset, KY- TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) won first place for its redesigned Visitor Region Guide at the Kentucky Tourism Council’s (KTC) Annual Traverse Awards Gala in Louisville, Kentucky. The event was held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Historic Galt House Hotel.

The Visitor Region Guide is designed to increase awareness of adventure tourism opportunities both for those who live in the region and those who are traveling from far away. Page after page of engaging, high impact photography shows the real essence of the best Southern and Eastern Kentucky has to offer.

“The Traverse Awards represent the best of the best in Kentucky Tourism,” said Jeff Crowe, TOUR SEKY President and CEO. “We are honored to receive such a distinguished award.”

Working closely with the TOUR SEKY staff, Somerset firm Kirby Stephens Design designed the new region guide publication to be a bold and exciting invitation to experience the adventures of the region. Kirby Stephens design is also responsible for the design of the new TOUR SEKY agritourism publication “Discovering Wine in Southern and Eastern Kentucky,” which received second place honors in the same category.

Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing are open to Kentucky Tourism Council and Kentucky Hotel & Lodging Association members marketing a tourism product or service in Kentucky. All entries must have been published or distributed within the past year. Each entry is judged for concept, creativity, design and how well it relates to its audience.
