Smartphones are “such a pervasive and insistent part of daily life that the proverbial visitor from Mars might conclude they were an important feature of human anatomy.” — Chief Justice John Roberts, Riley v. California

Indeed, we’ve become a smartphone-dependent society. Nearly two-thirds of Americans are smartphone owners — according to an October 2014 Pew Research Center study — and for many of them, their phone is their only access to the outside Internet world.

As the landscape of Internet accessibility has changed, so has KSD in the way we design websites for our clients. All new websites built in the last two years are mobile friendly, and KSD’s most recent sites are responsive, meaning they can reflow, reprioritize and even present different content depending on the screen size.

Explore An American Original

The National Scenic Byway program in Kentucky needed a brand that would visually connect multiple byways and the sponsoring agency. KSD developed graphic icons to be used on byway road signs, on agency strategy manuals, and on visitor maps and guidebooks.

Fold Up Guide Fits Memorable Kentucky Adventure

This pocket map, which KSD created for TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky, is the ultimate guide to attractions on the region’s National Scenic Byways. Serving as an interactive tool, the “Find Yourself” passport was designed to educate visitors about the interesting places to explore in the region and reward them for their patronage. When visitors presented their map to be stamped at a variety of locations and returned it to TOUR SEKY, they received a free T-shirt, region travel guide and travel activity book, and were entered into a drawing for a one-of-a-kind Kentucky crafted wooden hat.

More Shorelines Than the Florida Coast

Kentucky’s Southern Shorelines Region — comprised of 10 counties and three major bodies of water — is unique in that it boasts more miles of shoreline than the entire state of Florida, making it a premier destination for summer vacation. In an effort to promote and increase tourism, representatives from the region’s respective tourism agencies asked KSD to redesign the Kentucky Southern Shorelines visitors guide. This 48-page brochure includes comprehensive listings of attractions and accommodations, a detailed map and highlights the area’s beauty through photography.

Stunning Photography Leads the Way

Page after page of engaging, high-impact photography in TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky's visitor region guide shows the real essence of the best this area has to offer. Working closely with the TOUR SEKY staff, KSD designed this publication to be a bold and exciting invitation to experience the adventures of the region.
This free tourism guide focuses on five main areas of adventure — outdoors, music, agriculture, history and arts and crafts. The guidebook also offers adventure maps and potential itineraries for the casual traveler.
